The Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, scheduled for Dec. 2-10, 2017, at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre, will feature nine men’s and nine women’s teams battling for the right to represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Some of the teams already qualified for the 2017 Roar of the Rings and others hoping to qualify for the Roar of the Rings will be playing at this year's Challenge de curling de Gatineau. This is your chance to see these elite teams in Gatineau as they prepare for these Olympic trials.
The 2017 Challenge de curling de Gatineau will partner with Curling Canada to give spectators attending this year's Challenge a chance to win tickets to the Roar of the Rings in Ottawa.

The 9th edition of the "Challenge de curling de Gatineau" is part of the World Curling Tour (WCT) and will take place October 18th to 22nd 2017 in Gatineau. This first class sports event will be jointly held at the Centre Sportif Robert Rochon (in the Masson sector of Gatineau) and the Buckingham Curling Club.
This tournament is of international caliber and is now considered one of the biggest ones on the World Curling Tour.
The best teams on the World Curling Tour will most likely stop in Gatineau this year to tweak their game in an arena setting in preparation for the olympic trials to be held in Ottawa this coming December 2017 .
For this edition, the « Pro-Am » type event will host 32 elite men’s teams and 32 « open class » teams for a total of 256 participants who will compete for over $57,850 in purse money.
This event, will be a great happening and no doubt showcase great curling for the many fans of this sport in this region. We are also anticipating that this event and the influx of many out of town teams will generate a significant economic boost to the Gatineau-Ottawa Region.
